About the Call

Hi everyone. I’m glad to report that I was able to listen to the entire LGT conversation while on a plane last week. Technology’s amazing nowadays, but you knew that already! Please check out new posting and notes on the LGT group on the NIC Hub. Please feel free to comment on anything you think is missing or needs amending.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so too.

At our next meeting, at noon (Eastern) on Friday, July 12, we’ll highlight a critically important topic that Dan Chavez brought up: identity management. We’ll couple that discussion, as time permits with one on governance, since it’s also a vital “precursor” to any real progress on interoperability and information-sharing. The following week, the subject in our spotlight will be data standards, with a focus on NIEM and FHIR in particular.

We’d like to regularly feature a topic during our meetings, so here’s an action-item/request: I encourage you to suggest two or three other subjects – like the ones I’ve just cited – that you think would be valuable for the LGT members to dig into.  It’ll just take a minute to provide your input by updating this google doc. We’ll then take a few minutes during our next meeting to sort through these, prioritize them and identify who will lead each discussion.  We believe this LGT group can make a real difference, so please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for making it as useful – to you and the field – as possible. Thanks again for your participation and support.
