I'd be interested in starting a dialogue around surviving traumatic life events and ending up at greater risk for opioid abuse. I'm not referring to events for which painkillers might be prescribed, but more events that might lead one to experience feelings of loss of control or PTSD-like experiences. In such cases, might one end up more at risk? What is the evidence one way or the other? And if so, what types of programs could be designed with a focus on prevention to better help such individuals, in a totally respectful, empowering, and person-focused manner? What are your thoughts? Let's discuss.
