A New Service Utility: Governance & Consent Management for Integrated, Person-Centered Care Breakout presentation covered how governance is widely recognized as a key to cross-sector data sharing and interoperability, and one of the most challenging governance issues is dealing with consent by the people whose information is exchanged. The session will explored the development of consent to share as a national utility – i.e., something so vital that it’s provided across sectors, so each doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel. A reusable, customizable consent utility would reduce some critical challenges to interoperability and information sharing and, as a result, would drive significant improvements in health and well-being. Presenters include Ken Salyards, Jennifer Bernstein, Paul Meissner, and Brian D. Handspicker.
