Elaine Scordakis is the Assistant Director of the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) Office of Health Information Integrity (CalOHII). Elaine's role has a strong emphasis on ensuring that all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) covered and impacted state agencies implement and comply with HIPAA. CalOHII provides statewide leadership, oversight, and policy formulation to HIPAA impacted state entities. Working as a part of the CalOHII executive team since 2001, Elaine has a deep understanding of state and federal-level policy development and implementation.
