I grew up in Maryland, transplanting to Arizona in 1996. I received my undergraduate degree in Human Communication at Arizona State University and my Masters in Administration/Leadership at Northern Arizona University. I am a survivor of suicide (sister) and a loved one of and advocate for the incarcerated and reentry population. I have worked in publicly-funded health care administration for more than 19 years in Arizona, focusing on physical and behavioral health and social services for vulnerable populations. I have spent the last eight years developing awareness and collaborative initiatives among Medicaid-funded health care agencies and criminal justice entities throughout Arizona.
