Katie Gaul serves as a senior policy analyst in the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices Health Division, focusing primarily on health workforce, data and analytics and rural health. Prior to joining NGA, Katie was a research associate at UNC Chapel Hill’s Sheps Center for Health Services Research with the health workforce and rural health research programs. While there, she also served as deputy director of the HRSA-funded Health Workforce Technical Assistance Center. For 15 years, Katie assisted in the development of state health workforce data systems, supported state and national projects related to health workforce education, practice and policy and connected researchers, policy makers to health workforce data and information.
