Information Management Specialist, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) Kenneth Salyards, Information Management Specialist, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) is a HL7 member and a Certified HL7 CDA Specialist coordinating health information technology across SAMHSA in collaboration with other federal Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies including Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), Federal Health Architecture (FHA) and Federal Health Information Models and Standards (FHIMS). This work is based on implementing data standards for behavioral health information systems and using these data standards to inform other HHS agencies. Mr. Salyards is an expert in implementing secure health information systems based on 42 CFR Part II and HIPAA privacy and security regulations. (I've asked Dave Walsh whether he'd like to set up a TAC group on the Hub... haven't heard back. What do you think about the utility of having a Group to share ideas and post progress/ideas?
