I currently work as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the San Luis Obispo Opioid Safety Coalition. My interest in the Opioid Epidemic began a few years ago when I began volunteering at my local syringe exchange program. As an undergraduate at Cal Poly, I did my senior project on the incidence of overdose in San Luis Obispo County. Following my term as an AmeriCorps, I will begin medical school and hope to continue working to fight against this epidemic as a physician.
