Increasingly, it is critical to understand the clear associations between social determinants and poor health status among children, adults and seniors. Factors such as food insecurity, lack of safe and affordable housing, quality education, transportation, and isolation have a significant impact on individual health and the collective health of our nation. The cost to healthcare, businesses and communities is in the billions and the human toll is incalculable.
The Root Cause Coalition, a non-profit, member-driven organization established to achieve health equity through cross-sector collaboration, is proud to be hosting the Fifth National Summit on the Social Determinants of Health held virtually on October 5-7, 2020. The robust agenda of this event will bring together representatives from healthcare, community and faith based organizations, researchers, government leaders, educators and businesses to share best practices, offer community connections and resources and engage in the crucial discussion of how to best address the social determinants of health.
