State, tribal, local, and territorial health department staff, emergency planners and managers, first responders, and anyone working in response to an epidemic often face complex legal issues when working to stop the spread of a highly infectious communicable disease.

CDC’s new, free Law and Epidemic Emergency Preparedness (LEEP) online training helps to improve understanding of the use of law during a large-scale communicable disease response by examining the legal underpinnings of emergency preparedness and response systems, what actions are authorized, and how to minimize legal barriers to an effective large-scale communicable disease response.

Join representatives from CDC’s Public Health Law Program and the Washington State Department of Health for a webinar that will introduce the goals and objectives of the self-paced, e-learning course; provide a demo of how to navigate the course modules; and offer examples of how the course could be practically applied.
