As individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) transition out of correctional facilities and back into society, they are at greatest risk for experiencing an overdose. In response, some states are implementing incarceration-based OUD treatment programs and linking individuals to treatment upon their release. This webinar will feature state correctional leaders from Maine and Pennsylvania who have overseen the implementation of incarceration-based treatment for OUD programs. These states will share how these programs were initially formed and funded, challenges experienced along the way, and initial successes and lessons learned.
