This virtual workshop, which will be live-streamed on this web page, has four objectives. In the course of this event, speakers will (1) describe and discuss why rising health care expenditures in the United States are a problem, including the opportunity costs presented, and will explore (2) case examples of innovative approaches to curb health care spending at the national, state, and local levels; (3) information about and approaches to communicating about this topic to persuade the public and policy makers; and (4) research on models or strategies to set priorities for societal investment in the drivers of health and address the challenges that arise from efforts to invest differently.
