As Managing Director of the Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN) at the University of California, San Francisco, Caroline leads efforts to conduct, catalyze, and disseminate research advancing health care sector efforts to reduce health inequities by addressing social determinants of health. She brings to this position more than a decade of experience working to improve health and economic outcomes for America’s most vulnerable families at the local and national levels. She has previously served as Director of the Economic Mobility and Poverty Project at the Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, Director of Research at the Children’s Defense Fund, Director of the Center for Public Health Policy at the American Public Health Association, Health Policy Advisor to Senator Harkin on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee, and Director of Epidemiology for the Baltimore City Health Department.
