Julie Rooney is the Chief of Communications and Outreach for the California Department of Public Health, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division (MCAH). Her team collaborates with health experts to provide public awareness on a variety of issues, including maternal depression, opioids and pregnancy, SIDS and preterm birth. Julie’s shop is best known for its public health digital storytelling series that tells the success stories of participants in the Black Infant Health, California Home Visiting Program and Adolescent Family Life Program. Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in public administration.
