Please join us for an update and in-depth discussion about Project Unify, NIC’s collaborative proof-of-concept initiative demonstrating interoperability and data-sharing across multiple domains. Over the past several months, our work teams have been maturing key parts of the POC, including person-matching, enabling technologies, architecture, security, user stories and alignment with various federal accelerator initiatives such as Gravity, Da Vinci, Carin Alliance and ONC FAST. We will structure the webinar to update attendees about the progress that’s been made, engage in discussion, and identify next steps and applications of the POC.
About the Presenters
Dave Walsh, Chair, MITA TAC
Dave Walsh brings over twenty years of innovation and leadership to the Medicaid and healthcare community. He has a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of healthcare, including the Medicaid and CHIP programs. He is a highly regarded healthcare consultant in leading various organizations with his vast knowledge and numerous entrepreneurial successes in the field. Dave believes in the value of collaboration and technology in addressing the challenges facing the Medicaid community. He continues to be an active participant in the community, including serving on board of the Private Sector Technology Group (PSTG) for many years and also the NMEH API industry group. In an effort to promote MITA principles, Dave co-founded and co-chairs the MITA Technical Architecture Committee (MITA-TAC). He has also developed a number of technical solutions in the public sector for many states. Currently, he is leading an effort in developing a cloud-based framework upon which the interoperable Medicaid modules will be defined and built going forward.
Eric Jahn, CTO, HSLynk
Eric has been working to enable human services web interoperability since 2002, participating in the development of numerous human services web data standards. Moreover, open source implementation of these standards continues to be a primary focus of his work, to create sustainable, transparent, and maintainable resources for communities to better serve the public. hslynk.com is his latest effort: an open source human services Platform as a Service, for powering a marketplace of real-time human services apps. Eric received a Masters in Public Administration from The Mark Hatfield School of Government in Portland, Oregon, and a BA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Pradeep S. B. Podila, PhD, MHA, MS, FACHE, FHFMA, CPHIMS | Public Health Informatics Fellow, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Denver, CO
Pradeep Podila is a CDC - Public Health Informatics Fellow (PHIFP) in the Obesity Prevention and Control Branch in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity (DNPAO). As a CDC fellow at Denver Health, he is leading pilot efforts of Childhood Obesity Data Initiative (CODI), a multisector project that aims to facilitate access to integrated healthcare, and weight management programs/community data to expand patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) data capacity in Denver, CO as a scalable national model. His research focuses on common data models (CDMs) and building data capacity for cross-sector record linkages (patient/client matching) in distributed data networks (DDNs) towards developing longitudinal patient records for comparative effectiveness research.
Pradeep has over 12+ years of combined experience in Systems Support and EHR based Health/Research Data Analytics. He has a doctoral degree in epidemiology and Masters degrees in electrical/biomedical engineering, and Health Administration from University of Memphis.
